John was fun loving and tenacious and touched the lives of everyone he met. He loved golf, taught waterskiing on the Colorado River, was an Army Green Beret, Golden Knight Parachute Team skydiver, pilot, Deputy Sheriff with both Yuma and La Paz County (AZ) and Special Agent with Metropolitan Water District (SoCal). After retirement, he co-founded a private investigation firm and worked security at American Honda in Chino. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Zella, son Dean (Julie), daughter DeAnne (Mike), stepson Bobby(Ricki), granddaughters Jaden, Ella, Morgan and Riley and grandson Tyler, former wife and friend Judy and many 'adopted' kids. All will miss his unsolicited advice on a golf swing!Burial will be May 17, 2013 at 0915 hours, Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA with memorial service at 12 noon at the American Legion Post 229, 13759 Central Ave, Chino, CA. Please wear red, white and blue or Class A or dress uniform.
