Mary Lea Myers passed away on February 22, 2014 in Huntington Beach California.
A graveside gathering will take place on March 10th At Riverside National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
Mary was born April 19, 1917 to the late Charles B. Turner and Mary Kivett in Randolph County, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband Milton "Milt" Myers who passed away in 2004. They were married for 67 years. Together they owned and operated Milt's Smorgasbord in Fontana, California for 23 years. Prior to Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley Mary lived in Highland CA. for 24 years.
Mary was number 13 out of a family of 15 children. She was the last of her beloved family. Mary loved her flowers and birds especially when she and Milt moved to Highland. Her long life typifies her determination, mental strength, and patience. Even when she could no longer walk in 2009 she never gave up on anyone or anything. No matter what life physically threw her, 2 hip replacements, 3 strokes, and a pacemaker, she handled it with grace, dignity, and her sweet smile. She quietly enjoyed her matriarch status and her greatest joys were her grandchildren Natalie and Nick. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by a daughter Pamela Snowden and husband Neil, granddaughter Natalie Snowden McLintock, Son-In-Law Jake McLintock, Grandson Nick Snowden, and great grandsons Ryder and Brogan McLintock.
In lieu of flowers please consider donations in Mary's name to the Leukemia Society of America, 2333 N. Broadway, Santa Ana CA 92706, or provide an act of kindness for an elderly person.
