Robert E. Caldwell Longtime Arcadia resident and businessman Robert E. Caldwell, born on November 16, 1924, passed away peacefully July 30, 2014. Bob was born in Scotland, raised in Rhode Island and enlisted in the Army at the age of 18. After WWII, he founded Caldwell Printers on First Avenue in Arcadia in 1949. Starting with a hand-fed letterpress in a friend's garage, he built the company into a thriving Arcadia business spanning six decades. He received the Arcadia Citizen of the Month award as a tireless champion of freeway sound walls. As a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Temple City, CA, he served there in numerous ministries. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the church, 6019 Baldwin Avenue, Temple City. Burial to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. He is survived by his two sisters Joyce Drake and Mary Fallon, two brothers Elmer and William Caldwell, and wife Vona Jean Caldwell, son James Caldwell, daughter Charlene Charles as well as two granddaughters, Kimberly and Kristen.
