Lawrence "Joe" Bartholomy Obituary
Lawrence "Joe" Bartholomy
Went to his eternal home in heaven Sunday, December 16th at home in Ontario. He was 52 years old.
Joe was born in Covina, CA on January 9th, 1960. He was the eldest of 4 children. He attended St. Christopher's School and Parish in West Covina as a boy and graduated from Bishop Amat High School in La Puente in 1978. He attended Cal Poly, Pomona and graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in ETC (Engineering Technology and Construction). It was at Cal Poly that he met the love of his life, Nancy. They married in 1984 and the Lord blessed them with 2 wonderful boys, Ryan in 1987 and Travis in 1990. Joe had been a masonry contractor since graduation in 1983 until his death. He was a member and willing servant of Christ at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ontario.
Joe is survived by his wife Nancy, and his sons Ryan and Travis. Also, his mother Arlene and his father Larry from West Covina and 3 siblings and their spouses -Kim (and Mike) of Upland, CA, Steve (and Angela) from San Dimas and Stacy (and Paul) from Covina. He also had numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was a tireless worker for his family, his business and his church. He loved the Lord and loved to serve the church and the community as a way to show God's love for others. He enjoyed fishing, family trips to Lake Havasu City, AZ and trips to their family's cabin in Crestline. He was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and loved to play practical jokes on anyone he knew or loved. He will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held Friday December 21st at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 920 W. 6th St. in Ontario at 1pm to celebrate Joe's life and his hope in our Savior, Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church and School or to one of his favorite community projects, the Euclid Avenue Nativity Scenes via the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.
