Carmen Banales Juarez
Was born July 16, 1930, to Juanita B. Ortiz. He rested in peace on February 3, 2013, at the age of 82 years old. Carmen is survived by his loving wife of 62 yrs, Eleanor, 2 brothers; Ray and Carlos, 1 sister Terri, 8 children; Richard (Karmen), David, Patricia (Richard), Philip, Cecelia (Gabriel), George (Renee), Anna (Pete), Maria (Ruben), 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He enlisted in the service at the age of 16. He served in the 11th Airborne Division, US Army, 129th Engineering Battalion. He earned the WWII Victory Medal and the Occupational Medal (Japan).
After an honorable discharge he married Eleanor and began raising a family. He was a carpet layer by trade, worked at General Dynamics and retired from the Pomona Unified School District. One of his gifts he passed onto his 8 children was his great sense of humor. His passion was providing for his family, he was a very generous husband, father and always willing to help others.
Rosary will be held at Todds Memorial Chapel at 6:30, Friday, Feb 15, 2013. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church Pomona, CA at 10:00 am, Saturday Feb. 16, 2013. He will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pomona.
