Edmond A. Tacconelli
Edmond A. Tacconelli, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2013 at the age of 91, surrounded by his family. Born in Pennsylvania on April 30 1921, son of Verino and Cletina, he was raised in South Philadelphia and was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School for Boys. Edmond proudly served in the US Army and WWII. Upon discharge, he began working as an electrician for the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and was frequently sent to work in San Diego, California to do specialized work on aircraft carriers. During one of these trips, in 1954, he met his future wife and soul mate, Marie Marchese. Edmond and Marie married in San Diego and shortly after, Edmond transferred to the Long Beach Naval Shipyard, where he became a permanent Long Beach resident, and started a family. Edmond retired from the Long Beach Naval Shipyard after 38 years of civil service. Edmond found beauty in everything and everyone. An honest, kind and caring person, he enjoyed sports, music, "fixer" projects, and family time. He leaves behind a loving family, many friends, and many wonderful memories. He is survived by his wife, Marie; his three children and their spouses, Edmond Jr. (Vivian), Lorraine (Daniel), Linda (Dale); grandchildren, Thomas and Julia; sister, Anne Esposito; and nieces nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Victor, and Rudolph. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m, with the Rosary to follow from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m at All Souls Mortuary, 4400 Cherry Ave Long Beach, CA 90807.
