Richard Ellis Hunter, retired LA County Pharmacist and owner of Arcadia Drugs in the 60's and 70's, passed away in Palm Desert. Married 49.7 years to his Alhambra High sweetheart Anita Jung, they raised four children and lived in Arcadia, traveling widely, often with their children. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, civic affairs, and had a contagious happy-go-lucky spirit. Richard was predeceased by his daughter Heather in 1991, and his wife, Anita, in 2000. He was a swell Grandpa to his five grandchildren. He remarried and shared a wonderful love and life with his second wife, Jo Ann Becherer Scott, and after a brief time in Arcadia made their home in Palm Desert. They enjoyed traveling to visit her two children, Kim Corey and Brad Scott, and his five step-grandchildren. Survivors include his beloved wife, Jo Ann, and his children Laurie Hunter, Robert Hunter, both of Pasadena, and Holly (Kurt) Peterson of Spokane. Services in Arcadia will begin at Church of the Good Shepherd, at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 10. Donations in his name can be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Assn; or the MichaelJFox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, online tax deductible Tribute Donation at
