Michael Ikezawa Obituary

MICHAEL AKIRA IKEZAWA 2/17/1926 - 6/7/2013 Michael moved to Honolulu when he was 5 years old. He graduated in 1944 from McKinley High in Honolulu. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1949 in Intelligence (CIC). Separated in 1949 as Warrant Officer. In 1953 he graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Engineering Math and a 2nd Lt's Commission through AF ROTC. In 1964 he received his MA in Mathematics from U of M through AFIT graduate program. He met Sherry at the U of M and they were married August 30, 1953 in Houston, Texas. Michael's AF career was mostly in computer programming and spanned from Germany to Omaha, Los Angeles and finally to Washington DC where he retired as a Major in June of 1970. After retirement Michael and Sherry moved to Palos Verdes where he worked for Logicon until 1978 when he really retired to pursue his love of photography, philosophy and computers. Michael and Sherry moved to Riverside in 1991 to be near March AF Base and potential retirement community of AFVW. Memorial services will be on Sat., June 22 at 11am. Call for details 951-212-6411.
