Rafferty, Janine - Hemet
JANINE RAFFERTY, 75, of Hemet, California, passed away on June 22, 2016, at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, California. She was born on November 13, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, and was the daughter of the late Howard and Elsa Harmon. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband Robert Rafferty for over 54 years, and mother to her four sons. She valued education, earned a Masters in Biology herself, and was very proud that all her sons also earned graduate degrees. She was the best grandmother, spoiling all eight grandchildren as often as possible. One of the activities she cherished was taking the grandchildren to the movies. She also attended all her sons' and grandchildrens' school and extracurricular activities. She was a fantastic hostess and prepared the meals at endless family gatherings. She loved to play tennis and taught her boys and grandchildren the game. Janine was also an avid golfer who amazingly made two holes in one in one round of golf in 1990. She enjoyed spending time with the many friends she made while living 47 years in Hemet, playing tennis, pinochle, and bridge. After raising her family she became well known in the Valley as an excellent tax preparer and loved helping people with their tough tax issues. She was an Enrolled Agent with the IRS, a title she was very proud of. Her family describes her as kind-hearted, strong, hard working, and caring. Surviving is her husband Robert Rafferty, sons, Bob Rafferty, Tom Rafferty (Kathy), Dan Rafferty (Jennifer) and Patrick Rafferty (Jennifer); brother, Don Harmon; grandchildren, Trevor, Sean, Allison, Kevin, Ryan, Ashlyn, Penelope, and Ella. We love you Janine. Services will be private.
