Doris Couch

DORIS COUCH Doris passed away on 1/30/2013. She was an Adventurer/World Traveler, born in 1915 on a farm in Indiana, of Danish immigrant parents, 10th of 12 children. When WWII started, Doris went to work at the munitions plant in LaPorte, IN. Not being satisfied with that, she entered the U.S. Navy getting her aircraft welder training in Norman, OK. She was assigned to NAS New Orleans, where she met her future husband Charles. She received her discharge having attained the rank OT 2nd. Class Hull tech. They came back to Charles' home town of Riverside, eventually being employed with A.T.T. Pacific Bell as a Long Lines Operator. Doris is a 40 yr. breast cancer survivor. She is survived by her 3 children, Jean Kristine Couch William from Los Angeles, Jeffrey Charles Couch from Riverside and John Carl Couch from Redlands, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. There will be a Graveside service on July 5, 2013 at 11:30am at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #3. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the .
