Lt. Col. Harlan (Pete) Zaring(1930 - 2013)

LT. COL. HARLAN (PETE) ZARING 1930 - 2013 Age 83, of Riverside, California, passed away on December 1, 2013. He was born in White River Township, Indiana on January 9, 1930. Col. Zaring proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 28 1/2 years as a KC-135 & helicopter pilot, Base Admin Officer, and 15th Air Force Inspector General. After retirement from the Air Force, he served 17 years with the County of Riverside Social Services. He was a volunteer at the Rubidoux Library and also volunteered in the San Bernardino fire lookout towers. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kenny and Sam. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ramona; son James (Pete); and 2 daughters, Tina Dicaro and Karen Browning. He was loving and generous to 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Interment will be Tuesday, December 17, 2013, 11:45 a.m., Riverside National Cemetery.
