Keith Denton Kress

KEITH DENTON KRESS, 72 yrs, died at his home with his family on April 10th, 2014. He had a long and distinguished career of 34 years with the United States Department of the Treasury. Upon retiring in 2001 he received the Albert Gallatin award for public service. Mr. Kress was the son of Dr. Roy A. Kress, Jr. and Doris E. Parker. He was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey, Dallas, Texas and Syracuse, New York. He graduated high school from Onondaga Valley Academy as valedictorian. He received his bachelor of science from Syracuse University in 1965. He joined the United States Air Force ROTC in 1964 becoming a 1st Lieutenant upon graduating college. He was honorably discharged in 1968 at the rank of Captain. Mr. Kress was pre-deceased by his wife, Karolyn Kay Kress and his stepbrother Alexander Ladd. He is survived by his brothers Lance Kress (Hillsborough, NC) and Gene Kelkress (Southbury, CT); his stepsister Dr. Lisa Ladd-Kidder (Kutztown, PA); son Daniel Ponder (Corona, CA); daughter-in-law Lisa Ponder (Corona, CA) and a granddaughter Brittany Ponder (Corona, CA). A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Kress will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery (Riverside, CA) on May 30th, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
