Lorraine Catherine Goik

LORRAINE CATHERINE GOIK Dec. 30, 1919 to Nov. 12, 2012 Lorraine, nearly 93 years young, passed away Monday evening, November 12th following a brief illness. She was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the eldest child of John and Ida Johannes. She moved to Riverside in 1952 with her two small children after the passing of her husband Normont Sponheim. She married George Goik and had two more children. She was a secretary and found a home with Social Services at Riverside General Hospital, from which she retired. Lorraine was very social and active in her community, serving on committees and participating in clubs. She was an avid dancer and would often be seen dancing the night away with her beloved husband. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband George, her daughter Melody and her sister Lou Evenson. She is survived by her sons Larry Sponheim and Peter Goik; daughter Robin Goik Vaughn; her children's spouses, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial luncheon will be held on Nov. 19th at 12 p.m. in the clubhouse at 4000 Pierce St. Riverside, CA.
