Matthew Peter Rettinger(1923 - 2013)

MATTHEW PETER RETTINGER Born January 10, 1923 - Died October 23, 2013 Matthew Peter Rettinger, a beloved friend, brother, husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Matthew was born in Glendive, Montana on January 10, 1923 and later served in World War II in the Army Air Force. Matthew was a graduate of Tulane University (1950) and UCLA (1962). He also served our nation in the National Security Agency and with the U.S. State Department stationed in the Dominican Republic, Laos, and Washington D.C. In 1957, Matthew married Patricia Helen Farrell of East London, South Africa and they spent 51 loving years together. Since 1971, the Rettinger family has lived in Lake Elsinore while Matthew and Patricia were teachers for the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. Matthew enjoyed his family, books, Latin jazz, and the family pets until his passing. Matthew is predeceased by his beautiful wife Patricia and his loving son Mark. Matthew is survived by his sister, Sue Larimer of Tacoma, Washington and his son Peter and his family of Lake Elsinore, California. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 3rd at 3:00 PM in the Stephen Price Theater on the campus of Elsinore High School. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you support a local charity or school of your choice with either your time or financial assistance.
