CHIEF RICHARD HARRY CAMPBELL, SR. Pomo Indian Chief Richard Harry Campbell, Sr. entered into peace February 3, 2013 in Ukiah at age 66. He was born July 12, 1946 in Riverside to Walter & Margaret (Beeson) Campbell of the Pomo & Hopi Nations. His family resided near Sherman Institute where his parents worked. He graduated from Ganado Mission H.S. (Arizona), 1964. He served in the Navy (Vietnam Conflict) & later resided on the Coyote Valley Indian Reservation (Redwood Valley) where he worked as the Tribe's EPA director & elected chief. He is survived by 2 sons, Wayne & Richard Jr., his wife Sonja; brother Melvin; 3 sisters, Gloria Alarcon (Perris), Linda Lucero (Kingman, Az) & Joy Jones (Mission Viejo); & many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Ruth. Services were held at the Riverside National Cemetery February 12th.
