WILLIAM CAWSTON ALLEN JR. Bill to some - Willy to others 09/09/26 - 03/20/13 Willy was born in Sacramento, CA on California's Admission Day in 1926 to William Cawston Allen Sr. & Marquerite. He claimed to be the only baby to be born in Sacramento on that holiday. As a youth he left high school to enlist in the Marine Corp and served in Okinawa & China. Over his lifetime he worked at several different jobs but his life career was a Firefighter
. After retiring from the Spring Valley Fire Co. he kept busy building fences, working some construction and his final job was a caretaker of a ranch near Warner Springs caring for some Fox Trotter horses that he loved. It was there that he met Mary Ann whom he would marry and spend the rest of his life with. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Allen; daughter, Cathie Mcoy (Warren) of Nuevo; sons, Darren (Jenny) in Missouri; Mike (Lisa) in Santa Inez; David in San Diego; 5 grandchildren: Osborne, Costin, Tucker, Kathelyn & Kendra plus an extended step-family and a host of dear friends. Willy loved many things beside his wife and children. He loved baseball, fishing, boats, camping, the Marines, horses, dogs, cats, his firefighter family and ice cream. Perhaps not in that order. A life well lived, a job well done. A Celebration of Willy's Life will be held on Saturday - March 30, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Hemet Valley Mortuary. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery at a later date.
