William Edward Leslie

WILLIAM EDWARD LESLIE William (Bill) was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 9, 1937 and passed away on November 18, 2012 at his home in Riverside, California holding the hand of his wife Millie and surrounded by his family. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mildred A. Leslie; 3 children, William Jr. (Jantra), Hayley Calhoun (Jeffrey), & Ben Leslie; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Zachary, Tianna, Jeffrey Jr., Ashley, William III, Joshua, & Anthony; great-grandchild Jayla; 4 siblings, Pat, Brian, Linda, & Arlene; and many nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from Jimtown High School in Elkhart, Indiana prior to joining the Air Force. Bill received a Bachelor of Education from Colorado State University and a Master of Education from Louisiana State University. Bill retired as a Captain from the Air Force after 29 years of service to our country. He then went on working as an engineer for another 10 years at Northrop-Grumman where he worked on the development of the B-2 Bomber. Over the years he enjoyed fixing old tube radios, traveling with his wife, and restoring classic cars. Bill was a very meticulous person and believed in doing things the right way. His friends and family will miss his soft heart - as his grandchildren know, he always said "yes". A graveside service will be held at the National Cemetery on Friday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Community Valley Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 7307, Moreno Valley, CA 92552, who have provided loving care to Bill's disabled son, Ben Leslie, for the past 20 years and will continue to care for him and other disabled adults for the years to come. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care and support they have received from family and friends during this time.
