DONALD HELZER Obituary

DONALD J. HELZER
87, of Hemet, California died on Monday, December 13, 2010, at The Christmas Cottage in Hemet.
Born Sunday, November 25, 1923, in Palmer, Nebraska, he was the son of the late John Helzer and the late Mabel Jackson Helzer. He was the husband of Frances Helzer. He was a farm boy throughout his high school years playing football, basketball and track. Don moved to California in 1957 and has been a member of the Masons and a plumber by trade for over 30 years. He loved fishing and playing softball. His children and grandkids were very important to him. Family reunions were his favorite time. Don is survived by his sons, Daniel D. Helzer of Visalia, Douglas P. Helzer of Houston, and Dean R. Helzer of Chino Hills; five grandchildren, Brandan Helzer and Sean Dell of Temecula, Travis J. Murphy, San Diego and Danelle Macias of Buean Park, India Helzer of Houston. Services will be at the Masonic Meeting Hall, 150 Laursen St., Hemet, CA 92543 on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11:00AM. Parking will be in the rear of the building. Special thanks to the entire staff at The Christmas Cottage for their exemplary service and compassion shown. In lieu of flowers please make contribtuions to the National Parkinson's Association.
