Bette Mitton Obituary

BETTE ANN MITTON Bette Ann (Jellison) Mitton went home to Our Father in heaven on November 18, 2010. She passed away peacefully in her sleep with her loving husband at her side. Bette was born in Upland, CA, on March 7, 1933 to Clifford and Inez Jellison. She graduated from Chaffey High School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Upland. She worked part-time for the Central Labor Council, was a member of TOPS, and belonged to the Elks RV Club. Bette was a loyal supporter of the CA Air National Guard where her husband served. Bette loved music and was a talented musician. She played the piano, organ and accordion to the enjoyment of her family, friends and audiences. As well as being a loving wife and mother, Bette was a creative poet and often wrote original poems to family and others to commemorate moments or brighten someone\'s day. Her writings reflected her sense of humor and her compassion for people. She enjoyed traveling, and when she was not spending summers at their cabin in Big Bear, she made many long trips with her husband in their RV or on cruises. Bette lived every day with optimism, and through her strong faith she trusted God to help her each day. She is survived by her devoted husband Robert, her loving daughter Cindi, and her cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Don Jellison. She will be missed by all her family and friends very much. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 1:00 pm, at the Mt. Shadows Community Clubhouse, 4040 Piedmont Drive, Highland. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the National Arthritis Foundation.
