ERNESTO AGUIRRE ACOSTA 11/02/1946 ~ 05/31/2010 Ernesto was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, eldest son of Francisco and Teresa Acosta. To better his life he decided to leave Texas and venture to California at the age of 14, and soon met the love of his life, Gloria. When he turned 18, Ernesto served his country in the Vietnam War, 3rd Marine Division. For wounds received in combat action he received 2 purple hearts and a gold star for his services. He returned home and began his life, working and continuing his education. Ernesto married and moved his wife, Gloria, and family to their home of 33 years in Riverside, CA. He worked for Alvord Unified School District for over 30 years in accounting as a Controller, then retired in January 2009. Ernesto was also a parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Riverside, CA. Ernesto was a generous person always willing to help his family and friends in need. He enjoyed playing golf, coaching his kids in baseball and watching Dallas Cowboys football games. He was a simple man with few words, but was always able to inspire everyone he came in contact with. Being a great family man, his passion in life was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. He was a genuine and one of a kind person in the eyes of his family and friends and will truly be missed but never forgotten. Ernesto is survived by his lovely wife, Gloria, of 41 years and 4 children, Ernie Jr., Angel, J Anthony, Monica and his son-in-law, Joaquin and daughter-in-law, Veronica; his 5 beautiful grandchildren, Savannah, Samantha, Joaquin Jr. Angel Jr. and Gabriel; his siblings, Jerry, Teresa, Frank, Christina, Virginia, Ruben, Pete and Jesse. He passed away Memorial Day, May 31, 2010 at 63 years of age from his battle with cancer, with his wife and children by his bed side.
