Fred Quackenbush Obituary

FRED NATHAN QUACKENBUSH Died on October 9, 2009 from respiratory disease, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Fred was born January 23, 1930 on Chicago's south side to parents Fred Quackenbush and Pearl Hoyle. After serving in the Korean War, Fred married Beverly Meinecke, with whom he had six children. Fred worked in sales throughout his professional career. Upon retirement, he moved to California to start a business with his sons and to care for his two grandsons. Fred had an enormous zest for life and enjoyed big band music, dancing, traveling, reading, bird watching, cooking, sailing, skiing, flying, and especially race car driving. Fred is survived by his wife Beverly; daughter Nancy Quackenbush; Chicago, IL, daughter Debbie Monteggia & husband Mark; Seattle, WA, son Bob & wife Janice; Murrieta, CA, son Bill; Temecula, CA, daughter Janet; Houston, TX, and daughter Cindy and husband Jeff; Houston TX. Fred had 10 grandchildren; Nicholas & Jessica Monteggia, Robert, Andrew, Jennifer, & Shannon Quackenbush, Bill Jr. & Kyle Quackenbush, and Sophie & Alex Kraus.
