Geoffrey Brett Gaines

GEOFFREY BRETT GAINES Geof was born in Glendale, CA, September, 11, 1969. He was 42 when he passed away on April 14, 2012 after playing in an Alumni basketball game in the Schools' Gym for a few minutes. He was attending his 25th high school graduation reunion. Geof grew up in Simi Valley, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Elvin Gaines. He was married to Evelyn Suarez, August 15, 1999. Before moving back to Simi Valley, Geof and Evelyn owned and operated Coffee Depot in Riverside, CA for ten years. The National Coffee Association of America confirmed that it was the largest coffee house in the U.S. In addition to his wife he leaves two young sons, Greg, 7, and Ethan, 5; sisters Geralyn Sperber, Daina Ramah, and brother, Darin Gaines and his mother, Geri Gaines. He will be buried next to his father and twin brother, Greg, who predeceased him 40 years ago. Viewing was at Reardon Mortuary in Simi, Friday, April 20. Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 21, at 2:00 pm. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1636 Sinaloa Road, Simi Valley, CA 93065. Interment will be at 11:00 am Sunday, April 22 at Pierce Brothers in Westlake Village, CA. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to Newbury Park Academy Alumni Fund in Geof's name, 180 Academy Drive, Newbury Park, CA 91320.
