I had the pleasure of working with Greg Ouellette at the Unocal Research Center. Frank Padilla and I made thin sections of Greg's rock samples, and Greg was always so warm and pleasant to communicate with, about his samples or anything else. My deep sympathies to his loved ones.

i'm am truly sorry for your loss. i will never ever forget greg, after all he was my first love. we met in the summer of 1969. we dated for a couple of years and then became engaged to be married. being the young spoiled brat that i was i got involved in drugs and broke up with him in 1972. i got married and became pregnant. and i saw him once that year. I heard through the grapevine that he married a great woman five years later. i was so happy for him. all i ever wanted for him was to be happy. in 2008 i found him on reunions.com and gave him a call. i just wanted to see how he was doing. we talked for quite awhile, about life, marriage, kids and our current lives. i learned that he had lost his wife a few years earlier and he was devastated. i was so sorry to hear that. at least he had children, that he loved & called his own. we met a couple of times in orange county, and talked for hours. same old greg, i thought. he was doing well with his business, enoying grandkids on weekends and loving the whole entire family. what a wonderful life this man had. little did i know about some earlier problems he said he had, which i never found out what they were, but he had been so very happy in his marriage and family. we talked daily for a while, then the calls just kind of became weekly, but we stayed in touch. i found the man i had originally fallen in love with again. the only difference was i wasnt in love with him, but found i had a real & true friend. i never met his wife, but from what little he had told me she sounded so perfect for him. i talked to him a couple of weeks ago, and he said he was feeling fine, & working alot. the only complaint he had was that he was over tired. then i heard the news that this wonderful person had passed. it really broke my heart. he was so young still. i will never forget him. the only regret i have is that i couldn't make to his services. the day of his service, my sister was lying in a hospital fighting for her life. i apologize to everyone. i so much wanted to be there. but i can say i am completely grateful for being able to see and talk with him again after all those years, and to hear him say, he had a happy life. god bless you greg, and your family. my sincere condolences. kathy gonzales
