Obituary Condolences

HERBERT "BILL" LOVETT Bill passed away on February 12, 2014 at age 88 after a brief illness to join his dear wife Aggie. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and later settled in California. He resided in the Riverside area for 60 years. He is survived by his sons Dennis, Larry and their wives Linda and Robin; first wife Yvonne; his sister Mildred; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Bill worked until recently as the chef at Lovett's Children State Preschool in Riverside. Featured in the 2010 Press-Enterprise story, "He's Still Cooking at 85", he was described as "unsinkable". He was a Navy veteran serving as a baker during WWII and Korean War on destroyers and battleships including USS New Jersey. Bill and Aggie operated Luigino's Pizza in La Sierra for over 20 years. In his lifetime, Bill nourished thousands of people with his great cooking, compassion and stories. He was also proud to be a Mason. His courage and dignity during his final days was an inspiration to all who loved him. A memorial celebration of Bill's life will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 2:00 pm at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 5. Reception to follow.
