Jean Glock Obituary

JEAN ALICE (MADIGIN) GLOCK Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm on September 13, 2008 at Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont, CA for Jean Glock, 55 year resident of Beaumont. Jean passed September 7, 2008 in Banning, CA due to age related problems. She was born January 27, 1917 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her parents moved to Roswell, New Mexico in the 1920's, Roswell was surrounded by ranches where she spent many days riding her much loved horse, Smokey. She eventually met William Glock whose family had moved to Roswell from Illinois. They were married in 1941. She is survived by her daughter, Anne, and son, Bill, of Beaumont, CA, son, Robert and wife Beverly of Tucson, AZ; granddaughters, Melissa Hernandez of Beaumont, Jennifer Beck and husband Jeff of Tucson, AZ, Michelle Martinez and husband Bill of San Pedro, CA, Autumn Glock of Arcata, CA and Tasha Luckett and husband Mike of Bremerton, WA; grandson, Bill Glock and wife Brittney of Newcastle, Colorado and grandson Rob Glock of Vail, AZ; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews of the Glock, Grimes, Madigin, Donnelly, Buck, Holmes, Beal and Brown families. Jean worked many years for Chelsea Stoneman when he had his chiropractic office in Beaumont. Her last years were spent working as an optometrist in the Beaumont office of Redlands Eye Medical for Doctors Slanney and Tarter. Many patients remember her for her patience and kindness in learning how to use their contacts. She worked there until her husband's illness made it necessary to retire. She enjoyed camping and she and husband Bill spent many summers in Oregon, Arizona and New Mexico camping, seeing new sites and visiting family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were much loved and enjoyed quality time with "gramma" who taught the grandchildren how to swim. Many fun times were had at her home, especially on holidays which she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Glock of Beaumont; daughter, Libby (Glock) Revell of San Pedro; grandson, Sean Glock of Beaumont and great-granddaughter, Andrea Hernandez of Tucson; parents, Martin and Anna Madigin; siblings, Jack, Rita, Jim and Danny. Also preceding her in death were much loved dogs, Shadow and Bandit. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Riverside Humane Society Pet Adoption Center, 5791 Fremont St., Riverside, CA 92504. To all the Family:
I am a friend of Libby's, Beverly and Robert. We knew Mom through Libby's countless stories and know how wonderful she was. God bless all of you at this time and may you always know God's love.

I would like to thank everyone who attended moms services. Tasha did a wonderful job with the pictures. I would like to thank my daughter Melissa who has always been there for her grandma and helped take care of her the past few years. She loved Melissas' 3 girls coming in and out to see her. Wether at home or the hospital or CV Healthcare Melissa was always there. Mom will be missed by all of her family.

The service for mom/gramma today was excellent. We so appreciate all the family and friends that attended and missed those who were unable to come due to illness. Grandsons Billy and Rob and grandaughter Autumn were missed but we know they were there in spirit. Tasha did a wonderful job with her slide show of gramma along with her memories of her. Gramma would have loved the music she picked "Ireland" by Garth Brooks. We all pictured mom, Aunt Rita, Uncles Jack,Jim and Danny, her parents Anna and Martin and of course dad/grampa Bill watching. We know they had a wonderful reunion this week and we picture her beloved dogs Shadow and Bandit and horse Smokey also greeting her. She will be missed by all but she was lucky to have lived a long and happy life.

Grandma Glock will be missed. She was a fixture in all our lives. She gave of herself to her family and never asked for anything in return. Bye grandma.
