Joaquin Lara Obituary

JOAQUIN "KINO" LARA Age 88, resident of Beaumont, CA for 79 years, passed away 10/11/2010. Kino was born 08/09/1922 in Tracey, CA. He worked in construction and retired from the Lather\'s Union. He served in the Army for 2 years, earning the rank of Tech 5 grade and was a Beaumont High graduate in 1941. Kino volunteered at the Fire Dept. for 33 years, was a member of Kiwanis and Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church. Kino is survived by his wife, Esther; daughters, Diana Williams and Karen Woods; sons, Joaquin, Jr. and Mike; brother, Al of Hayward, CA; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis; brothers, Lawrence, Tommy, Freddie and Leandro; sister, Annie. Visitation 10/15/10 at 4pm with 6pm Rosary at Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont. Mass on 10/16/10, 10am at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Pacific Hospice, 1998 N. Arrowhead Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92504 1-909-882-8466.
