Leo Christensen Obituary

LEO F. CHRISTENSEN Leo F. Christensen was born February 6, 1925 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was the son of the late Vilhelm and Jensine Christensen. Leo met the love of his life, Patsy June Miller and married her on October 7, 1948. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years and in the Army Reserves for 8 years. After serving 25 years with the L.A. City Fire Department, he retired with the rank of Captain. Leo and Patsy were long time residents of Moreno Valley, California. They spent 6 months out of the year in Montana at their home on Flathead Lake. Leo enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing and was dedicated to his family and friends. On October 2, 2010, surrounded by his loving family, Leo went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patsy; children, Cheri Lee Rhoades, Ron Allen Christensen and Sandy Lee Cray; sisters, Ellen Crandall and Marian Schwacofer; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and dear friends. He will always be remembered by his loved ones as a man who lived his life with honor and integrity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller - Jones Moreno Valley Mortuary. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 5:30pm at Crosswinds Church located at 29263 Ironwood Ave. Moreno Valley, California 92555. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to: Widows, Orphans and Disabled Fireman\'s Fund; 815 Colorado Blvd.- 4th Floor Los Angeles, California 90041. Inurnment will be privately held.
