Leonard C. Arroyo

1939 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
LEONARD C. ARROYO Age 74, passed away on Nov. 29, 2013. Born Jan. 13, 1939, in Compton, CA to Simon and Eduviges Arroyo. Leonard is survived by his wife of 53 years Ruth Arroyo; sons Richard (Lanette) of Riverside, and Daniel (Jennifer) of Farmersville, CA; sisters Josie ("Tino") Martinez of Visalia, CA, Delores (Frank) Borbon, and Carmen (Sal) Salazar of Lindsay, CA. He has 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Johnny Arroyo, great grandson Adrian Escobedo, his brothers Sal, Philip and Frank Arroyo. Very prideful of his country, Leonard served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He joined the Porterville Hot Shots from 1964 to 1968, where he received the rank of crew boss. He was also an electrician for over 30 years. A God fearing, country loving, family man, he managed little league baseball for 25 years at Arlanza Little League where he became vice president. His hobbies included collecting baseball cards, making rosaries for the blessed Virgin Mary, going to the casino and looking after his trees. He was a life-long Angels fan and also liked the Clippers and Chargers. Although you put up a good fight, God was calling you. You will be truly missed. We love you and miss you. Visitation: Mon, Dec. 16 from 4-8pm; Rosary at 6pm, both at Crestlawn Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass: Tue, Dec. 17 at 11am at Queen of Angels Church with burial with honors at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:15pm.
