LOUISE JEANNE MELLO Louise Mello of Riverside, CA was 78 when our Lord called her home. She died peacefully on November 6 at her home with her family at her side. Louise was born on Sept 7, 1935 to the late Noel B. Couture and Leda (Benoit) Couture. Born and raised in Fairhaven, MA., Louise was sister to Leon Couture, the late Phillip Couture and the late Noella Bassett. Louise married her next-door neighbor William Mello in 1953. In 1957 the Mellos moved to Riverside, CA. In their 57 yr marriage they had 2 children, daughter Kristen, their late son William (Billy), and 1 grandchild Isabella. Louise retired from Pac Bell phone company with 38 years of service but she's also known for her Catholic faith and commitment serving the community. Louise was a long time member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the Provence of St. Joseph of Cupertino Secular Franciscans. For over a decade Louise directed Queen of Angels soup kitchen. She was also a member of the Peace and Justice Council and Women Against Poverty (WAP). She showed compassion to the poor and helped thousands of needy families. She also visited the sick, elderly, and taught Catechism classes for the kids at Queen of Angels Church. Louise made a difference in the world and has touched so many hearts. Her kindness will always be remembered. Rosary and Memorial services will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Riverside Monday, November 11th. Rosary at 10:00 and Funeral Mass at 11:00.
