Mary L. Hatmaker Obituary
MARY L. HATMAKER, with her husband, her two sons and their wives at her side, passed into God's hands on January 29, 2014. Born and raised in the little Texas town of Medina, Mary excelled in sports, academics, graduating high school as Salutatorian and was voted "Best All Around" by the entire student body class. She went on to receive her Mathematics degree and teaching credentials. With her love of music inherited from her mother, she became an accomplished pianist. Mary was a kind and gentle soul and rejoiced in helping others whether as a 30+ year Kindergarten teacher or simply playing the piano she so loved for her Delta Kappa Gamma organization. Mary was sharp as a tack when it came to playing Bridge and it remained a passion her entire life. She touched so many lives and was dearly loved by all. Mary was preceded in death by parents Clarence O. and Nell Kathleen Bauerlein and her sister Patsy Heinen of Medina, Texas. She is survived by her husband of nearly 54 years Edward, her two sons Scott and Paul, her brother Richard "Buddy" Bauerlein, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Viewing and services will be held at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer in Riverside on February 12, 2014 starting at 10:00 a.m. followed by a burial service held at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside at 2:30 p.m.
