Mr. Williams was a sub teacher for me many times at Norco High School, was always an awesome teacher. He told me about the band he was in but never got to hear them till after i got out of school when my older brother played me a CD and i asked who it was, he then told me Spiderworks and i fell in love since then the CD was lost (some 10yrs ago which is funny since iTunes claims Shiver was released in 2007 maybe it was a demo we had idk) i was recently thinking about the music i heard on that CD and really wanted to hear it so i did some research and found that Mr. Williams had passed my prayers are with the family! I did find the album Shiver on iTunes and purchased it and i play it at least once a day i love it!!!! I know you are rockin out and making awesome music Mr. Williams i will always remember you!

Marijo, Tina, and family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. My memory is of Monte and Marty as little guys playing and eating birthday cake at the farm. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

I met Monte and the rest of the Spiderworks in 1990 when I was 16 years old. Monte worked at the Mad Platter and he showed me The Melvins and Mudhoney. He was always so accepting and genuine to me. He and the rest of Spiderworks (and later Fried Wood), let us hang out at Primo sounds, while the whole place vibrated. Spanky's, Monopoly's, The Barn, and chaos. Loud with T.V.s all over the stage playing Willy Wonka loops, you could tell Monte was having so much fun. When I saw them last Aug. Monte was still grinning like 1990. We will miss you brother. You made us all SMILE. Thank you.

It is so surreal that I see this today after having a conversation with my roommate who is a current high school English teacher. We were talking about the the teachers that I still remembered and Mr. Williams was the first one that came to mind. He pushed me to keep writing and made me believe my first instincts should always be trusted, and he is one of the reasons why I have a love for theater. I'm saddened that he won't be able to fill the minds of the youth with all that he taught me over 10 years ago. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

I miss the way he used to call me Lubby. It was so funny, he was funny. I loved his class, and you could always tell he had a ton of passion for language. He was very inspiring, and made me want to write again. The things he taught me have helped so much in my college career, and I'm so sad to hear of what happened. We will all miss you Mr. Williams. You inspired us, and still do.

Monte was one of the best teachers I had ever had, he took the time to teach me and my friend how to play guitar on breaks. He was always up beat and made sure you actually learned things. Later in life I had the pleasure of seeing a Spiderworks show which brought guitar back into my life. Monte left his impression on a lot of kids, and as an adult his impression remains.

After my husband passed two and 1/2 years ago, Monty took the time to call every couple months to chat with me and reminisce about his Corona High teaching experiences with Paul. I always will remember Monte for his thoughtfulness and I will miss our conversations. He brought much light and happiness to so many.

Monte always made me laugh in the day. My favorite moment is when I read his signing of my year book. He did something like 30 hyphenated names. Loved his dry sarcastic humor. I am sad.

I have some fond memories of my cousin Monte from when we were kids.. even though I was older I looked up to him and was proud to know him.. such an artistic, intelligent soul. My thoughts are with my uncle Bill, aunt MariJo, Mark, Tina and his many friends and students. I hope to see you again Monte..

When teaching at RCC I always looked forwards to talking with Monte. His creative and intellectual energy was contagious. His projects were ambitious and original.. His ability to communicate were enviable, what I was attempting to say in ...many words he could say brilliantly with a few. We would bring controversial music and other topics to the class environment. I discovered that he was also quite a musician, his playing technique was crisp and advanced. We kept in contact after my tenure at RCC ended. I will miss his mind and company. To me this is a vital loss to the cultural community in general.

First met Monte when Spiderworks played The Country Club in Reseda. He was in the parking lot by the back door hanging out after the gig. About a year later, I met this kinda familiar guy who was in all my English classes at UCR. It wasn't until years later that I realized this was the same guy.
Haven't seen him much since graduation, but I'd see him around and we'd always chat about the new music he'd been listening to. An all-around good guy with an excellent ear. I'm very saddened by this wholly unexpected loss.

Mr. Williams was one of my favorite teachers. He made every class interesting and I learned so much. I was in his class when Corona high was going though a remodel and he did not have his own classroom. He was the teacher with the "box". He would carry around a cardboard box with all of his stuff. He made that box last all year. Duck taped and all! :) Thank you for all that you taught me, Mr. Williams. My thought and prayers are with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Monte and I became friends when we were teenagers. I can still see him as a wiry kid with his long hair, band t-shirts, and his doc marten boots. We loved the same music scene, and over the years, I enjoyed watching him play in different bands - especially Spiderworks. In recent years, our visits have become fewer and farther between, but he has always held a special place in my heart. He was a kind and thoughtful person - always asking about my family, and acting genuinely interested in what was happening in my life. He was funny, intelligent, sensitive, talented on so many levels, unpredictable, sometimes challenging, and sometimes brutally honest. I miss him terribly. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to those who were closest to him. And to his mom and dad - thank you for bringing him into the world so that we may all share in his light.
