Robert Everett

ROBERT LOUIS EVERETT Robert L. "Bob" Everett, age 82, passed away having lived an exemplary life. He was born in 1928 in Oroville, CA. He attended Oroville Union High School and later graduated in 1950 with a BS in Business Administration from U.C. Berkeley. During the Korean War, Bob served in the US Army training soldiers to operate artillery. In 1951, he married Julia Anne Moss of Riverside. They were married for 42 years before her passing in l994. After his service in the Army, Bob and Julia settled in Riverside. Bob joined the family business, Moss Motors/Moss Bros., where he worked for 58 years, serving as General Manager and Corporate Officer. Bob later married Marguerite Ehlers of Riverside in 1996, and they were happily married for almost 15 years. Bob was a leader and active member in a number of organizations throughout his life, including: The 20-30 Club, Riverside Exchange Club, Boy Scouts of America, Century Club, State Board Lung Association, Riverside County Lung Association, Riverside Community Hospital, Riverside Gem and Mineralogical Society, Associated Koi Clubs of America and Inland Koi Society, State and Riverside County Republican Central Committee, Genealogical Society of Riverside County, March Field Museum Foundation, and Jurupa Mountains Cultural Society. Following a family tradition, Bob was also very active in local Masonic organizations including: Past Master of Evergreen Lodge No. 259, Past Patron of Ungava Chapter No. 106 Order of Eastern Star, member of El Bekal and Victoria Shrine Clubs, Past President of Riverside Hi 12 Club, Past President of Riverside Area Scottish Rite Club, member of the Royal Order of Scotland and Robert The Bruce Association, Past Master Councilor of DeMolay, and member of East Valley Chapter #521 National Sojourners. At San Bernardino Scottish Rite, Bob advanced to Venerable Master and was Assistant Personal Rep. to the Sovereign Grand Inspector General. In 2007, Bob was accorded the title of Inspector General Honorary (33rd Degree). Over the years, Bob was also engaged in a number of other pastimes including: racing American Quarter Horses, raising Registered Hereford cattle and sheep, traveling the world, making jewelry and rock hounding, showing Japanese Koi, and authoring two books on Everett family history. Bob is survived by his wife, Marguerite; his two children, Constance Everett of Riverside, CA and Charles Everett and daughter-in-law Julie Hews-Everett of Bainbridge Island, WA; two Grandchildren, Russell Everett and his wife Meredith Everett of Seattle, WA, and Patricia Everett of Vancouver, BC Canada. On Marguerite\'s side, Bob also had 4 children, Rita Palma, Clifford Ehlers, Theresa Stewart, and Gary Ehlers; plus 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Burial services will be held at Olivewood Cemetery at 3300 Central Ave. in Riverside, CA on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at Evergreen Masonic Lodge, located at 5801 Chicago Ave. in Riverside, at 12:00 pm.
