RONALD E. FRITZ Ron E. Fritz passed away quietly at home on April 26, 2011 at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 3, 1932 in Los Angeles, the only son of Donald and Pauline Fritz. A graduate of Huntington Park High School, Ron was a proud U.S. Marine who served in the Korean conflict. Upon his return from the war, he began dating a friend from high school, Beverly Hollenbeck. They were married on September 7, 1956 and remained by each other\'s side for more than 54 years. Ron took courses at Compton College and eventually earned a B.A. degree in Education at Long Beach State University. In 1963, he moved his wife and three young children from Buena Park to Corona, California, and accepted a teaching post at Corona High School. He was a popular and respected instructor of history, driver\'s education and other subjects at Corona for 33 years. "Coach" Fritz also had head coaching stints on the varsity basketball and tennis teams. Additionally he coached sophomore and JV football and was an assistant varsity baseball coach for many years. One of his proudest coaching experiences was helping Corona win its only CIF Southern Section baseball championship in 1992. Shortly before his retirement from Corona High, he and his wife, Bev, moved to the community of Bear Creek in Murrieta, California, where they were both active in social clubs and gatherings and avid golf club participants. Ron continued to substitute teach as recently as February of this year. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Bev; oldest son, Greg Fritz of McMinnville, Oregon; son, Doug Fritz and his wife Doreen, of Coto de Caza, California; daughter, Michelle McKovich and her husband Dave of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and four grandchildren, Dustin (23), Daniel (20), Kelsey (18) and Darin (15).
