Sam Incontro Obituary

SAM INCONTRO Age 88, resident of Hemet, CA for 48 years, passed away 11/27/2010 at Desert Hills Assisted Living in Hemet, CA. Sam was born 06/17/1922 in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved to CA in 1949 and worked as a tool maker at Continental Can of Los Angeles. He moved to Hemet in 1960 and worked for the City of Hemet for 20 years. He physically planted most of the trees along Florida Ave. and State St. as well as throughout the city. Sam was a true WWII Hero serving in the U.S. Army. He was in combat in Italy for 2 years. He was in several different battles: Battle of Anzio, Naples and Mt. Cossino. He fought in Siegfred Line and finished the war in So. France. He was shot through the mouth and out his cheek and was put right back in the line. Sam was raised in a strong Catholic Family and was a member of Our Lady of The Valley Catholic Church of Hemet. Sam is survived by his niece, Gloria (Ed) Carlin of Waukesha, WI and nephew, Don (Judy) Incontro of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, who passed away in 1989. Sam and Wanda had no children. Visitation Tuesday, 11/30/2010 from 9:00 to 9:30am at Hemet Valley Mortuary with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Hemet, CA.
