William Neighbors

1944 - 2011

WILLIAM "BILL" ARTHUR NEIGHBORS 66, died at his home in Moreno Valley, CA on June 27, 2011. Bill was born in Richland, WA on September 12, 1944 to the late Mary Hilda and Neville F. Neighbors. He was the youngest of 3 brothers. He is survived by wife Janis Neighbors; son Trevor and daughter-in-law Gerry Neighbors and his grandsons Tyler and Ryan Neighbors of Palm Desert, CA; brothers Don Neighbors (Janet) of Orange Park, Florida and Pat Neighbors (Lee) of Victoria, Texas. He is also survived by Buddy "Boo Boo" his faithful canine companion. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1966 where he played football for the Gamecocks. He then joined the USAF where he served with distinction for almost 22 years before retiring as a Lt. Colonel. During his time in service he earned his MBA from the University of Northern Colorado. He went on to work for Northrop Grumman and then URL as a System Safety Engineer in the aerospace industry. Bill was an understated man of great principle. He always showed tremendous devotion and support to all those he loved. Bill continually gave of himself until one day there was nothing more to give. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A service will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Moreno Valley, CA on July 9 at 2:00pm. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, at a later date.
