Gregory H. Diederich Obituary
GREGORY H. DIEDERICH Our Dad, Greg passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the age of 84 in his Norco residence of 37 years. He was born in Lindsay, Nebraska to Anthony and Sophia Diederich on Feb. 14, 1929. He was the eighth of fourteen children. He graduated from St. Bonaventure, in Columbus, NE in 1946. Greg then worked on the family farm before he entered the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge, Greg returned to farming and later graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1960. He retired from the Department of the Interior where he was employed as a federal inspector for over 35 years. Greg was an active parishioner at St. Mel's in Norco and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a huge "Big Red" Nebraska Cornhusker Fan. Greg is survived by his daughter, Michelle Diederich (Mike Wagner) and son, Greg Diederich (Kathy); grandchildren, Jordan and Garrett Diederich; brothers, Edward and Paul; sisters, Sr. Antonita, Sr. Carol and Marlynn Krings. He was preceded in death by brothers, Anthony, Donald, Carroll, Mark and sisters, Mary, Anna, Verona Berg and Cleo Earl. Greg will be missed by his family and friends for his sense of humor and outgoing personality. The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at St. Mel's Catholic Church in Norco. Graveside service will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, Dec. 24th at the Riverside National Cemetery.
