Roscoe Lewis Chadwick Obituary
ROSCOE LEWIS CHADWICK Age 96, resident of Riverside, California for 50 years, passed away January 12, 2013 of natural causes. Roscoe was born October 31, 1916 in Yates Center, Kansas. He married Wanda Naomi Giles on June 1, 1941 in Woodward, Oklahoma. Naomi died August 2 2008. They were married 67 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Alma Chadwick, three brothers, John, Vern and Charles Chadwick and two sisters Margie Doop and Genevieve Chadwick, all of Oklahoma. He has a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Jerry Bigbie; grandson Donald W. (Jennie) Bigbie and two great grandchildren Wesley A. and Rylie M. Bigbie, all of Riverside, California. Another grandson, Charles L. Bigbie lives in Washington. Roscoe entered the Army March 1942 and took his basic training at Camp Hahn, California. He retired in 1966 from the United States Air Force as a Colonel and Deputy Comptroller for 15th Air Force. His retirement ceremony was held at March AFB across the highway from old Camp Hahn where he had entered the service twenty four years before. He was stationed at many bases in the United States and abroad during his career. After his retirement he began a second career as a trust officer with Security Pacific National Bank. He retired after 15 years as Vice President in charge of the bank's Inland trust division. Private burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
