Major William E. "Bill" Adams Obituary
MAJOR WILLIAM E. (BILL) ADAMS December 3, 1919 - February 15, 2013 Bill Adams, age 93, passed away in Yukon, OK on February 15, 2013 of natural causes. He was born at the Rocky Ford, CO hospital and raised in Manzanola, an adjoining farming community. After graduating from Manzanola High School, Bill moved to Enid, OK to open a business and eventually joined the Army Air Corp. on July 1, 1940. He retired January 1, 1966 after more than 25 years of service and then went to work for 15 years at Hegelson Buick in Riverside Auto Center. While on leave, February 14, 1941, Bill met and married the love of his life Dorothy Williams, who remained his best friend and wife until her passing in Clovis, N.M. on February 2, 2003, after 62 years of joy. During their 62 years of marriage Bill and Dorothy were blessed with four children, Linda (husband Mac Devilbiss), Yukon, OK, Ronnie Adams (wife Elaine), Riverside, CA, Tony Adams (wife Diane), Overland Park, KS, and Steve Adams (wife Maryann), Riverside, CA; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A private celebration of life will be held in Yukon, OK after which Bill and Dorothy's ashes will be spread over Enid, OK where they met and married.
