Betty Louise (Lalone) Ryan

Obituary Condolences

BETTY LOUISE (LALONE) RYAN Formerly from Hemet, died June 8, 2013. Born June 8 1930 in Bowne Twp., Michigan. Betty later moved with family and completed her high school years in Boyne City, Michigan. She was affectionately known as "that crippled girl with the beautiful voice". Betty was stricken with polio at age 10 and lost her ability to walk. Betty despised pity and shunned those willing to help. Her independence allowed her to complete a Masters Degree in music, marry her husband David E Ryan of 60 years and raise a family of seven boys. Betty went on to become a revered professional soprano soloist and vocal coach for the University of Michigan. A devout life-long member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Betty served as pastor of the Community of Christ Church in Hemet, California and as High Priest to the World Conference Committee in Southern California. Betty will be remembered in a private family service.
