THOMAS FRANCIS DAY SR. July 26, 1936 - June 19, 2013 SCPO, United States Navy, Retired Thomas passed away peacefully on June 19, 2013. Born in Pittsburgh, PA. Thomas served 20 years in the United States Navy, serving multiple tours of duty during the Vietnam war era with attack air wings aboard the USS Coral Sea and USS Intrepid. During his distinguished Navy career he rose to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. Thomas was disabled from a stroke for the last 19 years of his life and never let that disability hold him back. He tried and did live his life to the fullest every day. He always had a positive attitude and smile. He is survived by his sons Thomas Jr., Mark, Michael, Steven, and Timothy and five grandchildren and three great-grand-children. Thomas' ashes will be scattered at sea by the U.S. Navy with Military honors. Husband, Father, Military Veteran. He will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity, and his love for people and conversation. He will be remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
