Micki Jean "Miki" (Sandison) Bailey(1952-2012)

Soldotna resident Micki "Miki" Jeane Sandison Bailey died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 at the Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna.
A celebration of her life will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Birch Ridge Community Church. Her cremated remains will be placed in the Soldotna Community Memorial Park at a later date.
Miki was born Sept. 17, 1952 in El Paso, Texas. She workedvarious and eclectic jobs from being a maître D at the Bourbon in New Orleans, modeling for Road and Truck Magazine and Winston Cup Races, to working as a welder in the oilfield and around the world as a pitchman.
She moved to Alaska in 1989.
"Mom was everything," her family said. "She was beautiful, funny, smart and enchanting. It's no wonder Dad fell in love with her the day he met her. Everyone did. She loved to laugh and most of all she love her family. As sad as we are to not have her here, we rest in the thought that she is face to face with her Savior Jesus, and we will one day join her in Heaven."
Miki was preceded in death by her parents, Stuart Wellington and Rosemary (Regnier) Sandison, beloved sister-in-law and nephew, Joell and Josiah Burns.
She is survived by the love of her life, Melvin Bailey of Sterling; daughter and son-in-law, Becki and James Pickett; grandsons, Justin Pescatore, Deavon and Rian Pickett all of Monahans, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Mike Abbott; grandchildren, Dakota, Caelan, James, Macylea, Elijah and Mackenzie Elsey, all of Soldotna; daughter, Meaghan Burns; granddaughters, Maddy and Miley all of Farmington, NM; sister, Dr. Stevie Patterson of Santa Fe, NM; brother, Jess Sandison of Odessa, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her very much.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
