Lifelong Nikiski resident Anna Marie Johns, 61, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at home surrounded by family after battling cancer.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the Nikiski High School Auditorium. Pastor Steve Davis will officiate. She will be interred at a later date in the family cemetery at Sunshine Point.

Anna was born Oct. 24, 1956 in Seward. She attended and graduated from Parks School of Business in Colorado.

She was a Broker working for Preferred Realty and Management and then with Century 21 Freedom Realty.

Anna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Nikiski. She was involved with Habitat for Humanity and was a Cheerleading Coach from 1998-2003. She was also Realtor of the Year in 2008 and 2017.

Anna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling and family time at Sunshine Point.

Her family wrote, "Anna was a loving, patient and compassionate wife, mother, sister and Nana. She was a friend to many and highly respected in the community. Family always came first and her smile will be missed by all."

Anna was preceded in death by her father, Morris Porter Sr.; her mother, Bertha Porter; brothers, Harold Eugene and Morris Porter Jr.; and nephew, Willy Rediske.

She is survived by her husband, Jw Johns of Nikiski; son, David Johns of Anchorage; daughters, Sabrina Johns of Wasilla, Katrina Monteil and Johanna Wilson, both of Anchorage; grandchildren, Everett Monteil, Wyatt Monteil, Tenley Johns, Landon Johns, Kaitlin Monteil, Easton Wilson and Jennie Wilson; sisters, Ami Rediske, B.K. Kivi, and Coline Kivi, all of Nikiski, and Kathie Riley of Anchorage; brothers, Jack and Willie Porter, both of Nikiski; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
