Longtime Kenai resident Bruce Russell Hall, 61, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at his home in Kenai.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kenai Senior Center located at 361 Senior Court, Kenai.
Bruce was born Jan. 9, 1955 to Marjorie and Bernard Hall in Brattleboro, Vermont. He graduated from high school in Vermont.
Bruce moved to Alaska in 1982, and married his wife, Corene Underwood, in 1983. Bruce worked for Electrosonics from 1975-1982. He was currently working for Safeway in Kenai where he was planning to retire. Bruce loved hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.
His family wrote, "Bruce loved hunting around the State of Alaska with his friends, but his hunt of a life time would have been a Safari in Africa. He was a loving husband, good dad and father-in-law, great friend and an amazing Papee to his grandchildren and just an overall genuine good guy. Bruce was well known in the community and whether he knew you or not he was always willing to lend a hand. Traveling with his wife Corene was always a plus, they loved camping on Skilak Lake in the summer and in the winter, they loved Hawaii and cruising to the Caribbean. No matter what kind of day he was having, there was always a smile on his face. We will always remember the humor, laughter, football Sundays and him napping on the couch with his hands together as our children have inherited. As he would tell his grandkids when leaving, 'Adios Amigos.'"
He is survived by his father Bernard Hall of Westmoreland, New Hampshire; sister, Diane Hall of Westmoreland, New Hampshire; son and daughter-in-law John and Shawna Hall of Kenai; grandchildren Kynzie and Weston Hall of Kenai; daughter Ammi Hall of Louisiana; best friend Walter Martin of Kenai; sister and brother-in-law Laura and Rob Boudreau of Brattleboro, Vermont; brothers-in-law Steve and Dan Underwood of Chesterfield, New Hampshire; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Marilyn Underwood of Chesterfield, New Hampshire; and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Corene Hall in 2014, mother Marjorie Childs in 2015, and step-mom Thelma Hall in 2015.
He and his wife's ashes will be scattered on Skilak Lake, their favorite place to camp, at a later date.
