Donald Jerry King, age 52 of Nikiski, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 18, 2018 after a heart attack in his home.

A memorial in honor of his life will be held at the Showalter Beach House, 911 Mission Avenue, Kenai, AK 99611 on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 3:30 p.m.

Don was born Sept. 4, 1965 in Pacific County, Washington to mother Margaret Prouse. Don was an avid outdoorsman whose many interests included camping, fishing, gardening, farming, wood working, wrestling, football, and tending to his chickens and goats. By trade Don was a commercial fisherman and plumber; in his soul he was a loving father, grandfather and husband. Don was always willing to help anyone in need. He spent every free moment of his life with his children and grandchildren; teaching them about life, and how to respect and love nature. Any who knew him would describe him as a dependable hard worker with a gentle spirit. Don's love of nature and his family took him from Washington to Alaska, where he lived in Kodiak on several separate occasions before settling his life in Nikiski to be closer to most of his children and grandchildren.

Don is survived by his mother Margaret Prouse; his wife Kristine King; his children Heidi, Johnny, and Latasha King, Kenneth Britton, Alannah Beckleheimer, and Dakota Horton; as well as several grandchildren.

With a heavy heart Don's family is saying goodbye, taking solace in knowing that he is home now, safe and at peace, with his Grandmother Anita Lundy, and Grandson Kason King who went before him. The family thanks you for your kind thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.
