It is with great sadness that Irvin Lee Faass passed away April 12th, 2018 at his home in Soldotna, from congestive heart failure.

Irvin was born April 4, 1954 in Anchorage, to his parents Everett and Colleen Faass.

As a lifelong Alaskan, Irvin contributed greatly to many construction and oilfield projects. He worked many years for various drilling and oilfield companies, most notably Weatherford and Jackson Construction. He enjoyed being on the jobsite and operating all types of heavy equipment. He had a special mechanical knack for everything with a motor and took pride in reviving older engines. He often used the phrase "cherried it out" after he finished getting a motor working again.

Irvin was a licensed pilot and had a passion for aviation; he barely survived a plane crash in 2001. He also spent his free time fishing and hunting. He placed in several different fishing derbies and was an excellent marksman with a rifle. Irvin was always willing to help anyone out in need and had the gift of gab. He never met a stranger that he wouldn't chat with.

Irvin loved spending time on Whisper Lake riding jet skis, waterskiing, and pulling his nephews with his ski boat. Irvin's nephews, who were his pride and joy, have fond memories of snowmobile trips to the Caribou Hills; early on they rode 3-up on a short track Arctic Cat exploring the high country of the hills and running up and down the trails. His nephews loved to spend time with him in the shop changing vehicle fluids or bending out bumpers on the kitty cats.

Irvin loved his family immensely and took life on full throttle. He cherished the family time he spent with his parents, sister Robin, and nephews.

He is survived by his sister Robin Turnbull-Andree, nephew Alex/Emily Turnbull, nephew Tom/Gina/Cora Turnbull, niece Brittany Jackson, aunt Nancy Roges, stepfather Pat Gordon, stepsister Adele/Tom Bearup, cousin George Davis, and his beloved dog Pluto.

A Celebration of Irvin's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
