Soldotna resident Jeffrey Ryan Dale, 34, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at his home in Soldotna.
Visitations will be held Tuesday, Oct. 29 in Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Jodeco Road United Methodist Church in Stockbridge, Ga. Rev. Gene Sheffield will officiate.
Mr. Dale was born March 8, 1979 in Fort Worth, Texas. He received his Bachelor's of Science and Geology in 2003. In 2008 he moved to Soldotna where he worked for the Kenai Peninsula Borough in the GIS mapping department. Jeff loved hiking, nature, guitar, fishing and music.
His family wrote, "Jeffrey was a gentle soul profoundly at home in nature. He hiked the 2,000-mile Appalachian Trail in 2005. Jeffrey was dearly loved by all who knew him, especially his extensive family. He touched the lives of everyone he met, and continues to do so in his passing."
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William I. Dale Jr. and Dr. Thomas G. Roberts, and grandmother, Anne Roberts.
He is survived by his mother, Marcia (Roberts) Harmon of Stockbridge, Ga.; father, Brian Allen Dale of Dunwoody, Ga.; brother, Daniel Patrick Dale of Henderson, Nev.; sister, Bethany Dale Schiller of Roslindale, Mass.; step-father, Dennis Harmon of Stockbridge, Ga.; step-mother, Carolyn Sue Dale of Dunwoody, Ga.; brother in-law, Corey Schiller of Roslindale, Mass; step-brother, Kenneth Scott Harmon of Fayetteville, N.C.; step-sister, Katherine Priest of Stockbridge, Ga.; sister in-law, Roshell Mae Dale of Henderson, Nevada; nieces, Maia Yvette Dale and Audrey Marie Dale of Henderson, Nevada and McKenzie Harmon and Deana Harmon of Stockbridge, Ga.; and step-brothers, Michael Allen Dale of Tempe, Ariz. and David James Dale of Dunwoody, Ga.
