Lifelong Alaskan and Sterling resident, Mr. Jesse James Udelhoven III, 24, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2017 at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 at the Sterling Community Center in Sterling. Food and fellowship will follow the services at the center. Professor Paul Landen will be officiating.

Jesse was born Dec. 22, 1992 to Karena Ann (Starr) and Jesse James Udelhoven II in Soldotna. He graduated from Skyview High School and furthered his education by attending some college classes at KPC. He was a welder's helper working for Udelhoven Oilfield System Services. Jesse loved snowboarding, snowmobiling, hiking, kayaking, camping, the L.A. Rams, football, traveling, gaming, and spending time with family and friends.

The family wrote, "On Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 Jesse passed away from serious complications that were caused by an infection. Our hearts are heavy with this sudden loss and we are left with a hole that will never be filled. Jesse had a huge heart and love for his family that will always be missed. He enjoyed spending quality time with his nieces and nephews, and will always be remembered as being the 'fun' uncle. He lived life to the fullest and encouraged others as well. We look forward to being reunited with him again where the streets are gold and the powder is always fresh. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the local Boys and Girls Club in his memory."

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Ruth Udelhoven; grandpa, Michael Moneypenny; uncle, Ashley Udelhoven; and cousin Cherise James.

He is survived by his fiancé, Mieka Chythlook of Kasilof; mother, Karena Udelhoven of Sterling; father, Jesse Udelhoven, II; brother, Sidney Udelhoven of Kenai; sister, Megan (Jake) Magee of Anchor Point; sister in-love, Greta Blevins of Kenai; nieces and nephews, Ever, Jackson and Lincoln Udelhoven all of Kenai and Zoey, Ezekiel, Noah, Theodore and Emelia Magee all of Anchor Point; brother from another mother, Martin Finderino of Germany; grandpa, Russell Moore, Sr. of Texas and Jim and Barb Udelhoven of Kasilof and numerous aunts and uncles.
