Las Vegas resident Jim Pierce died January 9, 2013 due to heart complications. He was 44.

Mr. Pierce was born Sept. 14, 1968 in Papeete, Tahiti.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Church on the Rock in Wasilla., Alaska.
Jim moved to Alaska in 1976 and lived in Valdez, Soldotna and Wasilla. He attended Soldotna High School and college in Anchorage. He was a gifted artist and well known for his beautiful scrimshaw pierces. He was working for Clark County court system in Las Vegas with at risk youth and gang intervention at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ron Pierce.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Dwinnell; Stepfather, Tom Dwinnell; partner, Kelly Hays; daughter, Savannah Pierce; grandson, Jax; stepdaughters and stepson, Stephen, Jenny and Jessica Hays; brother, Keith Pierce; sister Christine Swan and Diana Pierce.
