Former Kenai Peninsula resident John "Chuck" Charles Hutchens, 62, of Pawnee, Oklahoma died Tuesday in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

John, or Chuck as he was known, was born the son of Hubert and Charlotte (Dasher) Hutchens on March 19, 1955, in Rangely, Colorado. He was raised in Rangley until the family moved to Alaska in 1969. Chuck graduated from Kenai Central High School in 1977. Chuck pursued welding as a career working with his father in Oklahoma and later worked with his brother in pipeline inspection.

Chuck's passion in life was riding motorcycles. Over the years, he had many motorcycles and his current ride was a Harley. Chuck took many memorable long haul bike trips with good friends all over the country. He enjoyed fishing in Alaska. He was always working with his hands and created many metal art pieces.

Chuck is survived by his companion Haroldine Stutderville of Pawnee; parents Hubert and Charlotte Hutchens of Ralston Oklahoma; two children, Travis Hutchens and Rebecca of Georgia, and Mariah Storter and Jason of Alaska; four siblings Dave Hutchens and Gayle Ann of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Cecilia Pernaslice and Pete of Ralston, Debbie Standefer and John of Kasilof, Alaska, Tanya Hudson and James of Ralston; stepson PJ Blair and Megan of Cushing, Oklahoma; many grandchildren, Me Alex Hutchens, Liam Storter, Kayai Hutchens, Gavin Storter, Ethan Blair, Logan Blair, Mary, Mike Jerod, Justin Beverly and Jeremiah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Dec. 22, at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Pawnee. Interment was in the Pixley Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.
