John Michael "Mike" Walker Sr., age 69, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in Soldotna.

He was born in Lamar, Missouri on July 31, 1948 to Theodore and Claudia Walker. Mike joined the U.S. Navy in 1966 and retired in 1986, as a Chief Petty Officer. He and his wife Kathy moved to Soldotna in 2006, where Mike worked at Central Peninsula Hospital as a Medical Technologist, retiring in 2013.

Mike was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10046.

He will be reunited with his beautiful wife Kathy who passed way in April of 2013; his father, Theodore J. Walker Sr.; and his mother, Claudia Maxine Walker.

John is survived by his sons, John Michael Walker Jr. and his wife Tabitha of Soldotna, Theodore Jackson Walker and his wife Dondi of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Heather Colleen Rangel and her husband Danny of Joplin, Missouri; granddaughters, Kelsey Caitlin Walker of Largo, Florida, and Graci Kathleen Walker of Joplin, Missouri; great-grandson, Mathew Greene of Largo, Florida; sister, Susan Wheeler of Soldotna; and brothers, Paul and his wife Valerie Walker of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Theodore J. and his wife Sue Walker of Anchorage.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help; 222 W. Redoubt, Soldotna, Alaska.
